Question
The ratio of A’s income to B’s income is 3:4, and their expenditures are in the ratio 5:7. If each saves ₹5000, find A's incomes.
Solution
ATQ,
Let incomes = 3x, 4x; expenditures = 5y, 7y. 3x − 5y = 5000; 4x − 7y = 5000 Subtract → x = 2y → Put in 3x − 5y = 5000 → 6y − 5y = 5000 → y = 5000 Then x = 10 000. A’s income = 3x = ₹30 000; B’s = 4x = ₹40 000
