Question
In 2022 when his income was Rs. 20,000, Anil spent 35% of
his income and saved the rest. In 2023, if his income increased by 30% and his expenditure increased by Rs. 600, then by how much did his savings increase as compared to that in 2022?Solution
ATQ,
Amount spent by Anil in 2022 = 20000 Ă— 0.35 = Rs. 7,000
Amount saved by Anil in 2022 = 20000 - 7000 = Rs. 13,000
Income of Anil in 2023 = 20000 Ă— 1.3 = Rs. 26,000
Amount spent by Anil in 2023 = 7000 + 600 = Rs. 7,600
So, amount saved by Anil in 2023 = 26000 - 7600 = Rs. 18,400
Increase in savings as compared to 2022 = 18400 - 13000 = Rs. 5,400
