Question
The lengths of three medians in a triangles are 15 cm,
20 cm, 25 cm. What is the area of that traingle (in cm 2 )?Solution
Here s = (a+ b+ c )/2 = (15 + 20 + 25) /2 = 60/2 = 30 cm If a, b & c are medians of any triangle , then area of the triangle = 4/3 √(s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)) = 4/3 √(60(60 - 15)(60 - 20)(60 - 25)) = 4/3 √(60 × 45 × 40 × 35) = (4/3) × 150 = 200 cm²
