    given. Find the length of the chord of the larger circle which touches the smaller circle.

    Solution

    Here, O is the center and PQ is the chord of the circle. In APOR OP2 = OR2 + PR2 (10)2 = (6)2 + PR2 PR2 = 100-36 = 64 PR = √64 = 8 cm PQ is tangent so, OR PQ PQ = PR + RQ =8+8 (As PR = RQ) = 16 cm
