Read the following data carefully and answer the given questions: The table given below shows the total number of fruits (Apples + Oranges) sold, percentage of number of fruits unsold and ratio of Apples and Oranges sold by five different fruit sellers.

Find the total number of Apples sold by A and D together.

Solution

Total number of fruits sold by A = [650 – (20% of 650)] = 520 Number of Apples sold by A = 520 x 5/13 = 200 Total number of fruits sold by D = [720 – (15% of 720)] = 612 Number of Apples sold by D = 612 x 5/6 = 510 Total number of Apples sold by A and D together = 200 + 510 = 710
