price of a TV, a shopkeeper earns a profit of 25% on the cost price. Had he not given any discount on the marked price, what would have been the profit percent earned by him?
A 44.55% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 48.52% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 50.35% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 56.25% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

Let the marked price = Rs. 100
      ∴Selling Price = Rs.80 & Profit % = 25 %
      ∴ C.P = 80 x (100/125) = Rs. 64
Without discount S.P would be Rs. 100
      % profit = (36/64) x 100 = 56.25 % approx.
