    In how many days will 8 men complete a task?

    Statement I:  Five men, three children and two women together can complete the task in 12 days.  Statement II:  Eight women complete the task in 20 days. Statement III:  Three men complete the task in 16 days. Each of the questions below consists of a question and three statements numbered I, II and III given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in all the three statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read all the statements and give answer –

    Solution

    From I, In statement I there is only one condition. So we cannot find the answer. From II, We have to find the days of men’s work and in statement II, the data is regarding women. So we cannot find the answer. From III, 3 men = 16 days ∴  8 men = (16 × 3)/8 = 6 days Hence, only statement III is sufficient to answer the question.
