Question
What is the difference between the number of students
participated from school C and the number of girls participated from school A and B together? Study the following information carefully and answer the related questions. Number of students participated in dance from three different schools. Number of girls participated from school B and number of boys participated from school C are equal. Respective ratio of number of boys and girls participated from school A is 2:3 and number of girls participated from school A are 18 more than the number of girls participated from school C. Sum of number of participants from school B and C is 490 and 180 students participated from school A. 100 boys participated from school B.Solution
Let the number of girls participated from school B and number of boys participated from school C = x Let number of boys and girls participated from school A be 2y and 3y respectively. According to question, => 2y + 3y = 180 => y = 36 Number of boys from school A = 2y = 72 Number of girls from school A = 3y = 108 Number of girls participated from school C = 3y – 18 = 90 Now, 100 + x + x + 90 = 490 => 2x = 300 => x = 150 Number of girls participated from school B and number of boys participated from school C = 150 Required difference = (108+150) – (150+90) = 258 – 240 = 18
