Let the speed of the current be ‘x’ km/hr
Therefore, speed of the boat in still water = 2.5x km/hr
According to the question,
2.5x – x = 180 / 15
Or, 1.5x = 12
Or, x = 8 km/hr
Required time taken = 280 / (2.5x + x) = 280 / (3.5 × 8) = 280/28 = 10 hours
