Question
Salaries of M, N and O are in the proportion 4:6:5. Their
average salary is Rs. 18,000. If M spends 50% of salary, N spends 60%, and O spends 70%, find their average spending.Solution
ATQ,
Total salary = 18000 × 3 = Rs. 54,000
M’s salary = 54000 × (4/15) = Rs. 14,400
N’s salary = 54000 × (6/15) = Rs. 21,600
O’s salary = 54000 × (5/15) = Rs. 18,000
M’s expense = 14400 × 0.5 = Rs. 7,200
N’s expense = 21600 × 0.6 = Rs. 12,960
O’s expense = 18000 × 0.7 = Rs. 12,600
Average expenditure = (7200 + 12960 + 12600) ÷ 3 = Rs. 10,920
