    Total wage of 20 labourers in the initial group = 20 × 500 = Rs. 10000 New average wage of the group = 500 + 55 = Rs. 555 New number of labourers in the group = 20 – 4 + 2 = 18 So, according to the question, 10000 – 4 × 360 + 2K = 555 × 18 Or, 10000 – 1440 + 2K = 9990 Or, 8560 + 2K = 9990 Or, 2K = 9990 – 8560 = 1430 Or, K = (1430/2) = 715
