Question
The average height of each student in a class of 25
students is 130 cm. If 10 new students joined the class, then the average height of the each student in the class increases by 4 cm. Find the average height of 10 new students who joined the class.Solution
Total height of 25 students of the class = 130 times; 25 = 3250 cm When 10 new students joined the class, average height of each student = 130 + 4 = 134 cm Total height of 35 students of the class = 134 times; 35 = 4690 cm Average height of 10 new students who joined the class = {(4690 ndash; 3250)/10} = 1440/10 = 144 cm
