Section 6A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 provides for:

Section 6A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 provides that where an essential commodity seized as having been disposed of or otherwise dealt with in contravention of a control order is likely to be lost or destroyed, or its value is so low as to make it not worth keeping, the competent authority may, after giving an opportunity of hearing, order its FORFEITURE. The seized commodity and its container/animal/conveyance used in the contravention may be confiscated. Section 6A thus deals with the disposal/forfeiture of seized property, complementing the control powers under Section 3.
