What role does the Central Government have in relation to public awareness about pollution control? 

Section 3 – Power of Central Government to take measures to protect and improve environment The Central Government has the power to take necessary steps to protect and improve the environment and to prevent and control pollution. ● Coordinating Efforts – Works with State Governments and other authorities to implement environmental laws. ● National Pollution Control Program – Plans and executes programs to reduce pollution. ●  Setting Environmental Standards – Defines quality standards for air, water, and land. ● Regulating Emissions & Discharges – Establishes pollution limits for industries and other sources. ● Zoning Restrictions – Decides where industries and activities can be set up, with necessary safety measures. ● Accident Prevention – Lays down rules to prevent and handle environmental accidents. ● Handling Hazardous Substances – Defines safe procedures for dealing with dangerous materials. ● Research & Monitoring – Conducts studies on pollution and inspects industries to ensure compliance.  ● Environmental Labs & Institutes – Sets up or recognizes laboratories to support environmental protection efforts. ● Public Awareness – Collects and shares information about pollution control. ● Guidelines & Manuals – Develops guides to help industries and authorities follow environmental rules. ● Other Necessary Actions – Takes any additional steps required for effective implementation of the law. Additionally, the Central Government can create special authorities to enforce environmental laws and take necessary actions.
