CPC Order 39 Rule 1. When a suit has been instituted, and it is shown by affidavit or otherwise to the satisfaction of the court that, in order to prevent the ends of justice from being defeated, or by reason of the plaintiff's absence, the defendant may be restrained until the suit has been disposed of from committing or continuing any of the acts, specified in sub-rule (1) of rule 1 of Order XVII, the court may grant a temporary injunction to restrain such defendant from committing or continuing any such act, or make such other order for the purpose of staying and preventing the wasting, damaging, alienation, sale, removal or disposition of the property as the court thinks fit, until the disposal of the suit or until further orders.
