Solution

  • The 86th Constitutional Amendment (2002) inserted Article 21A in the Indian Constitution which states:
  • “The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of 6 to 14 years in such manner as the State, may by law determine.”
  • The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act- was passed by the Parliament in August 2009. When the Act came into force in 2010, India became one among 135 countries where education is a fundamental right of every child.
