Under Section 15 of the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994, all licences, permits, quotas, and exemptions granted to the erstwhile International Airports Authority or National Airports Authority in connection with their affairs and business, under any law in force, shall, with effect from the appointed day:

Section 15 of the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994 provides that, with effect from the appointed day, all licences, permits, quotas, and exemptions granted to the International Airports Authority or the National Airports Authority, in connection with the affairs and business of either body under any law for the time being in force, shall be deemed to have been granted to the Airports Authority of India, in which the undertakings of both erstwhile authorities vested under Section 13. This is one of several transitional "deeming" provisions in Chapter IV of the Act (alongside Sections 14, 16, and 17, addressing general effect of vesting, tax exemption continuity, and guarantee continuity respectively) that collectively ensured a seamless, disruption-free legal transition of all regulatory approvals and business authorisations when the two erstwhile statutory bodies were merged into the newly constituted Airports Authority of India in 1995.
