Under the RTI Act, the Central Information Commission and State Information Commissions submit an annual report to whom?

Under Section 25 of the Right to Information Act, the Central Information Commission or State Information Commission prepares an annual report on the implementation of the provisions of the Act and forwards it to the appropriate government. The appropriate government then causes the report to be laid before each House of Parliament or the State Legislature, as the case may be. This reporting mechanism provides for oversight of the functioning of the Act and the Commissions, and promotes accountability and continuous improvement in implementation.
