Odisha became the 34th state/Union Territory to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Health Authority in January 2025. The scheme in Odisha is being implemented in convergence with the state's own Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY), with women members receiving an additional health insurance cover of ₹5 lakh per annum.
