The Nalanda inscription discusses the attack on Garhwal by the Pala ruler of Bengal, Dharmapala. Probably, after this attack, the Nimbar dynasty was established in place of the Kharpardev dynasty in Kartikeya Pur state. Nimbar had made a treaty with the Pals of Bengal.
