What is the transaction limit per payment under UPI Lite?

UPI Lite allows users to make small-value payments up to ₹500 per transaction without requiring a UPI PIN for each payment. It is designed for low-value transactions to reduce the load on core banking systems and provide a smoother user experience. Users can add funds to their UPI Lite wallet up to a maximum balance of ₹2,000 at a time. The service was launched by NPCI to promote on-device UPI payments for frequent small transactions, particularly at retail points. This facility improves payment speed and reduces bank server dependency.
