It is a day to pay tribute to the Mirabal sisters, the Dominican Republic activists who were murdered at the order of Rafael Trujilllo in 1960. The day creates awareness for non violence against women. This year it is a 16 days campaign starting from 25th november to December 10 when it is International Human Rights Day.Â
