Sum of ages of A, B and C = 28 × 3 = 84 years Sum of ages of B, A and D = 24 × 3 = 72 years So, C – D = 84 – 72 = 12 years Let the age of C and D be 5x and 3x years, respectively. 5x – 3x = 12 2x = 12 x = 6 So, age of D = 3x = 18 years.
