    Question

    The perimeter of a rectangle is 150% more than perimeter

    of a square of side 10 cm. If the length of rectangle is 250% more than side of square then find the difference between the area of square and the area of rectangle.
    A 425 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 625 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 215 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 450 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Perimeter of the square = 4 x 10 = 40 cm Perimeter of the rectangle = 40 x (250/100) = 100 cm Length of the rectangle = 10 x (350/100) = 35 cm Let the breadth of the rectangle be b cm. => 2 x (35 + b) = 100 => b = 50 – 35 => b = 15 cm Required difference = (15 x 35) - (10 x 10) = 425
