Question
A train travelling with a speed of 108 km/h can cross a
pole in 5 seconds. Find the time taken by the train to cross a 210 metres long platform if the speed of train is increased by 20%.Solution
Speed of train = 108 × 5/18 = 30 m/s Length of train = 30 × 5 = 150 metres Desired time = (210 + 150)/(1.20 × 30) = 10 seconds
