Question
How many seconds will a train 65 m in length, travelling at the rate of 40 km an hour, take to pass another train 80 m long, proceeding in the same direction at the rate of 22 km an hour?
Solution
Relative speed = 40 โ 22 = 18 km/hr Speed (m/sec) = 18 ร (5/18) = 5 m/sec Time = Total length of both the trains/Relative speed => Time = (80 + 65)/5 = 29 sec
