The Airbus H125 helicopter final assembly line established at Vemagal in Kolar district, Karnataka, is expected to produce around 500 helicopters over the next 20 years. The facility represents India’s first private-sector helicopter final assembly line, marking a significant milestone in India–France aerospace cooperation. Initially, the facility will manufacture the civil variant of the H125 helicopter, with the possibility of producing military variants in the future. The first locally manufactured helicopter is expected to roll out by early 2027, and the aircraft produced at the facility will also be available for export to countries in South Asia.
