Under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), the Central Research Institute (CRI), Kasauli will supply 55 lakh doses of the indigenously manufactured Tetanus and Adult Diphtheria (Td) vaccine by April 2026. The Td vaccine was launched by the Union Health Minister to strengthen India’s vaccine manufacturing capability and expand immunisation coverage. The UIP is the largest immunisation programme in the world, providing vaccines against multiple preventable diseases. Increasing domestic production of vaccines helps ensure consistent supply and strengthens public health preparedness.
