On August 30, 2024, the Ministry of Finance granted Navratna status to the following three Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs): ·         Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI): A leading CPSE in the development of renewable energy in India. ·         National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC): A key player in the Indian power sector, with a focus on hydropower, wind, and solar energy. ·         Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Ltd. A CPSE under the Ministry of Power. The Navratna status gives these organizations greater operational and financial autonomy. The status is based on parameters such as net profit to net worth, profit before depreciation, interest, and tax (PBDIT) to capital employed, and earning per share.
