Padhe Bharat, Badhe Bharat is a nationwide program being implemented within the framework of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, which was launched in 2014 by Smriti Irani, the Human Resource Development Minister of India. Children who are unable to read during their early education are more likely to struggle in other courses. The objective of the curriculum is to develop the reading and writing skills of children and their mathematics skills in classes I and II. A total of Rs 762 crore had already been authorized for states as part of the scheme. Additionally, the Central Government has allocated Rs 2352.57 crore to help States/UTs improve their existing good programmes.
