Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina launched Universal Pension Scheme. It aims to cover citizens aged above 18 under pension coverage. Four initial packages introduced: Pragati, Surokkha, Samata, Prabashi. Pragati for private job holders, Surokkha for self-employed, Samata for low-income, Prabashi for expatriates. Remaining two packages to be launched later. Citizens above 18 can participate, pay installments till age 60 for pension. Individuals above 50 can join, pay installments for 10 consecutive years.
