The Education Ministry under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has fixed a target of 50 per cent Gross Enrolment Ratio in Higher Education by 2035. To achieve this significant target various steps are being taken like new regulations for open and distance learning programmes and online learning programmes to augment the accessibility of Higher Education. The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) based SWAYAM portal has been launched to reach out to people and allow them to secure good quality education.
