· The Indian Vegetable Oil Producers ’ Association ( IVPA ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) with the Malaysian Palm Oil Council ( MPOC ) to enhance cooperation between Malaysia and India in the palm oil industry and to promote the usage of palm oil . · It aims to help educate Indian consumers on the nutritional and health benefits of palm oil and improve their overall understanding of palm oil and its applications . · It will expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest and will promote the development and use of Malaysian palm oil and Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil ( MSPO )- certified palm oil . · The MoU will encourage the exchange of data on palm and edible oils and fats related business, besides technical, policy and administrative information . · India is one of the largest importers of edible oils . · India buys palm oil from Indonesia, soyoil from Argentina and Brazil, and sunflower oil from Ukraine . · Malaysia, the second - largest palm oil producer in the world, is one of the top sources of India ’ s palm oil imports .
