Jal Jeevan Mission : On 15 August 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the Jal Jeevan Mission — to provide clean tap water to every household. In 2019, only 3.23 crore (17 percent) rural households had tap water supply. Currently, 8.26 crore (43 percent) rural households have tap water supply in their homes. Till now, tap water supply has been provided in 7.72 lakh (76 percent) schools and 7.48 lakh (67.5 percent) anganwadi centres.
