    If we look into the following image, we find that the Government’s spending on social services as a percentage of GDP has shown a rising trend since 2017-18. But the Government’s spending on social services as a percentage of total expenditure of the Government declined in the year 2020-2021.  Hence, statement 1 is correct but statement 2 is not correct.
