Given below is a sentence with or without an error. The

error, if any, is in one part of the sentence. Choose the correct part which contains the error. In case no error; choose option e ‘no error’. No sooner the employees completed the task than the manager presented them the incentives.
A No sooner the employees Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B completed the task Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C than the manager Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D presented them the incentives Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E No error Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

When an adverb is used in the beginning of a sentence, the subject and the verb are placed in an opposite order. Hence, the sentence at the beginning should be ‘No sooner did the employees complete………..’. We introduce a helping verb ‘did’ since the sentence is in simple past and placing ‘completed’ before ‘employees’ would not be accurate and will not make a sense.
