Recently, ‘Mera RATION App’ was launched under the scheme ONORC to help the ONORC beneficiaries. It allows users tocheck what they are entitled to, locate nearby ration shops etc. It also supports biometric authentication. About ONORC ( One Nation One Ration Card scheme). It was started in August 2019 (initially in 4 states only). Objective is to introduce the nation-wide portability of ration cards under the National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA). 4 States/UTs that are still not covered : Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and West Bengal.
