PMKSY is a Central Sector umbrella scheme , which includes various ongoing schemes of the Ministry under it. Its sub-components are: (a) Mega Food parks (b) Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure (c) Operation Greens (d) Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure (e) Creation /Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities (f) Infrastructure for Agro-Processing Clusters (g) Creation of Backward & Forward linkages (h) Human Resource and Institutions Under component schemes of PMKSY, MoFPI provides mostly credit-linked financial assistance (capital subsidy) in the form of grants-in-aid to entrepreneurs for setting up of food processing/preservation industries. The total outlay of PMKSY is Rs. 6000 Crore for the period 2016-17 to 2019-20.
