Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) an infectious (viral) disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals. A cloven hoof, cleft hoof, divided hoof or split hoof is a hoof split into two toes. This is found on members of the mammalian order Artiodactyla. Examples of mammals that possess this type of hoof are cattle, deer, pigs, antelopes, gazelles, goats and sheep. The FMD eradication is being implemented under National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) since 2019-20. It aims to control Foot & Mouth Disease by 2025 with vaccination and its eventual eradication by 2030
