CAM (Crassulacean Acid Metabolism) plant are the one in which in which C4 cycle occur during the night and C3 cycle occur during the day. They open their stomata during night and fix CO2 into Oxaloacetic acid via PEP-carboxylase. The Oxaloacetic acid is stored as malic acid in the vacuole which breaks in day time to release CO2 for photosynthesis when their stomata remain closed
