In the objective paper, candidates answer 30 questions in reasoning ability for 30 marks within 20 minutes, 20 questions in general awareness with a focus on insurance and financial markets for 20 marks within 10 minutes, and 50 questions in professional legal knowledge for 100 marks within 30 minutes.

The descriptive paper follows, where candidates must answer 4 out of 6 questions on legal knowledge for 50 marks in 60 minutes, and these marks are scaled to 150 for the merit list.

There is also an English descriptive paper of 2 questions worth 25 marks in 30 minutes, which tests communication skills through tasks like emails, reports, précis, and situation analysis. However, the English descriptive paper is qualifying in nature and not counted for the ranking.

# 50 Marks will be converted to 150 and minimum qualifying marks in Descriptive paper of professional knowledge will also be normalized to 150. ** English Language test will be of qualifying nature in Main Exam and the marks thereof will not be counted for ranking.

LIC AAO Legal Mains Syllabus
