    In the question below there are three statements

    followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the four given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts. Statements: Only Painters are Doctors. Some Painters are Lawyers. Only a few Teachers is Lawyers. Conclusions: I. At least Some Teachers are Doctors. II. At least Some Lawyers can be Doctors. III. Some Teachers are not Lawyers.

    Solution

    Only Painters are Doctors → All Doctors are Painters and Doctors cannot have any positive relation with anyone. Hence neither conclusion I nor II follow. Only a few Teachers is Lawyers  → Some Teachers are not Lawyers (O) and Some Teachers are Lawyers (I). Hence conclusion III follows.
