Question
A sedan clocks 324 km in 4 hours. The motorbike is 5.5
m/s slower than the sedan. Compute the distance (in metres) the bike covers in 1 minute 40 seconds.Solution
ATQ,
Speed of sedan = (324/4) = 81 km/h = 81 Γ (5/18) = 22.5 m/s
Speed of bike = 22.5 β 5.5 = 17 m/s
1 minute 40 seconds = 60 + 40 = 100 seconds
Required distance = 17 Γ 100 = 1,700 metres
