ATQ, Let the actual speed of Mohan be βsβ km/hr. And, actual time taken by him to reach his destination is βtβ hours. So, total distance covered by Mohan in βtβ hours = {s Γ t} km --------- (1) Also, Distance covered by Mohan while travelling at 45% less speed = 55% of s Γ (t + 6) = 0.55 Γ s Γ (t + 6) km --------- (2) From equation (1) and (2), we have s Γ t = (11/20) Γ s Γ (t + 6) Or, 20st = 11st + 66s Or, 9st = 66s So, t = 66/9 = 7.33 hours So, required time = 7.33 hours
