Question
If 78% of (A - B) is equal to 26% of 90% of (A + B), then
find the ratio of B to A.Solution
ATQ,
Given
78% of (A - B) = 26% of 90% of (A + B)
Or, 39 × (A - B) = 117 × (A + B) [78% = 39/50, and 26% of 90% = 23.4% = 117/500]
Multiply both sides by 500 to eliminate denominators:
→ 19500 × (A - B) = 117 × (A + B) × 50
→ 19500A - 19500B = 5850A + 5850B
→ 13650A = 25350B
→ A/B = 25350 / 13650 = 13 / 7
So, B/A = 7/13
