      Question

In the question, two Quantities I and II are given. You

have to solve both the Quantity to establish the correct relation between Quantity-I and Quantity-II and choose the correct option. Amit is thrice as efficient as Binny whose efficiency is one-fourth of the efficiency of Chetan. If all of them work together, then the work gets complete in 35 days. Quantity-I: What is the time taken by Amit and Chetan to complete the work if both of them work on alternate days starting with Amit? Quantity-II: What is the time taken by Amit and Binny to complete the work together?
      A Quantity-I > Quantity-II Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B Quantity-I < Quantity-II Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C Quantity-I ≤ Quantity-II Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Quantity-I = Quantity-II or No relation Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      E Quantity-I ≥ Quantity-II Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let the efficiency of Chetan be '4e' units/day. Efficiency of Binny = (1/4) X 4e = 'e' unit/day Efficiency of Amit = 3 X 1e = '3e' units/day Total work = (3e + 1e + 4e) X 35 = '280e' units Quantity I: Work done by Amit and Chetan in first 2 days = 3e + 4e = 7e units Time taken by them to complete the work = (280e/7e) X 2 = 80 days So, Quantity I = 80 days Quantity II: Time taken by Amit and Binny to complete the work = 280e ÷ (3e + e) = 70 days So, Quantity II = 70 days Therefore, Quantity-I > Quantity-II Hence, option a.
