Question
Direction: The question consists of two quantities,
choose the correct option which represents the  correct relation between Q1 and Q2. Quantity (Q1): The length and breadth of rectangle are in the ratio 14 is to 11 respectively and the perimeter of rectangle is 150 centimeter. If the area of rectangle is equal to the area of top surface of solid cylinder, then find the curved surface area of the cylinder given that its radius is. 1105 percent of its site. Quantity 2(Q2) :. An article is for mark 44% above its cost price. And then sold after offering a discount of Rupees 144. So as its selling price is rupees 24 more compared to selling price when it was marked rupees 190 above its cost price and sold after a discount of 25%, what would be the selling price of the article if it had been sold at a profit of 20%?Solution
Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be 14x and 11x respectively. So perimeter of the rectangle = 2(14x+11x) = 50x cm. So, 50x= 150 x=3cm So length and breadth of the rectangle are 42cm, and 33cm So area of the rectangle.= 42*33 = 1386 sq.cm 3.14* radius2 = 1386sq.cm Radius = 21 cm and height = 21/2 = 10.5cm So curved surface area=Â 2*(22/7)* 21*20 = 2640sq.cm Quantity 2: Let the cost price of the articlr = Rs. 10y As per the querstion 100y*1.44 -144= (100y+190)*0.75+24 144y-144 =75y+142.5+24 Y= 310.5/69 = 4.5 And so the cost price of Article = 4.5*100 = Rs. 450 Desired selling price = 450*1.2 =Rs. 540
