Tarun bought a Toaster for Rs. 24000. After one year he sold it to Lalit at 10% less of his cost price. Lalit spends extra Rs. 400 for its repair. And offered Toaster to Mohan for Rs.X. Mohan requested to get a discount of 22% on that price. But Lalit gave him two successive discounts of 10% and 12% instead of 22%.By this Lalit got Rs. 450 more from Mohan.
