    of the child, twice the share of the other child, three times the third child's share and four times the fourth child's share, all are equal. Please tell the number of total gifts received by the first and the second child.

    Let the number of gifts received by the first child be x. Number of gifts received by second child = x/2 Number of gifts received by third child = x/3 Number of gifts received by fourth child = x/4 According to the question-   x + x/2 + x/3 + x/4 = 775 (12x + 6x + 4x + 3x)/12 = 775 25x/12 = 775 x = 775 x 12/25 x = 372 Total number of gifts received by first and second child-   = x + x/2 = 3x/2 = 3/2 x 372 = 558
