student in six different subjects A, B, C, D, E and F. Total marks obtained by the student is 540. Marks in a particular subject is shown as a percent of total marks in all these six subjects. Â Which of the following statement(s) is/are correct? I. Sum of the marks scored in subjects A and B is 27 more than the marks scored in subject D. II. Ratio of marks obtained in subject A to marks obtained in subject C is 3 : 4 respectively.Solution
From I: Marks scored by A and B = (18% + 5%) × 540 = 124.2 Marks scored by D = 18% × 540 = 97.2 Difference = 124.2 – 97.2 = 27 Statement I is true.  From II: Required ratio = 18: 24 = 3:4 Statement II is correct.  Therefore both the statements are correct.
